Together, we can ensure that every player and family finds the right fit and enjoys a positive experience in baseball.
Travel and Rec Baseball Statement of Purpose
TravelandRecBaseball.com was created to address a significant gap in reliable information concerning baseball.
Families seeking current and accurate information about organizations, teams, coaches (including those offering private coaching lessons) and opportunities in their geographic area are confronted with many challenges. Information posted on social media is transitory, often anecdotal and at times highly biased. Information spread by word-of-mouth typically does not fare much better, and the story often changes or evolves with each telling. In either case, important details can get lost, omitted, or deleted, making it difficult for families relying on these sources of information to make important decisions in the best interests of their young athletes.
Our goal for this website is to provide a centralized, trustworthy source of comprehensive information about baseball. We aim to do this through two separate methods: First, we plan to compile and present comprehensive information and data on organizations, teams, coaches and geographic locations (e.g., where practices are held, how far a team typically travels for tournaments, etc.). Importantly, we invite all organizations and coaches to submit their relevant information and data and to alert us of any perceived discrepancies on our website by emailing us at Support@TravelandRecBaseball.com. Second, in recognition of the value of personal experience in guiding others, we encourage families and players to share their experiences and insights. Whether this entails a review of a specific team (either as a player or opponent), a critique or recommendation of a specific organization or coach, or a tip for managing travel and time commitments, the contributions of families and players—those who are living the life of baseball—can help others make more informed decisions.
Through the combination of verified information and data along with community input, we hope to create a practical, helpful and supportive space where families can find useful information and connect, share and learn from personal experience in the world of baseball. We invite you to join us in building a resource that assists families in making informed decisions ones that help young athletes and their families identify the right fit and have a positive and rewarding experience—about baseball.
